June 2nd

June 2- Tom Brown Park/Craig's Killer Coffee

For the past couple days I have been thinking about parks and wanting to be outdoors, walk around a lake, see puppies and families, etc. Lucky for me, Tallahassee has one of the "nation's best parks" (or so the sign says...)- Tom Brown Park. So this morning I set out to find the part of the park labeled Lake Leon and walk around it.

Let me start by saying this park is located by a prison. As in, the prison and the park are next door neighbors. Anyway, as you drive in, the park is beautiful as you would expect. The area I was looking for was easy to find and well labeled. But as I parked and walked up, this is what I saw.

You can see more clearly in these pictures that they are doing some kind of work on the lake and it's clearly not at it's finest.

On the plus side, I did get to see some wildlife. Herro little turtle :)

And to make up for my lackluster day at the park I tried a new coffee shop on my way home. Craig’s Killer Coffee is this tiny little place attached to a video store. Craig makes his own muffins, quiche, cookies, and sometimes pizza that he sells, and he has so many kinds of tea and coffee. He took my order (iced coffee) and was nice enough to add splenda, milk, make it super strong, etc. Loved it.

PS- How funny is this picture? I was like ohhh just being all cute at the pond. Never mind. Just pipes and stuff.
